Efficacy of four rates of oil on black sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet) control in bananas (Musa AAA)

, : Efficacy of four rates of oil on black sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet) control in bananas (Musa AAA). CORBANA 21(46): 129-139

The efficacy of 4 rates of oil (Prorex 37, 0.0, 5.0, 10.0 and 15.0 litres ha-1) was evaluated for control of M. fijiensis on 4- to- 6-month-old banana plants (cv. Grand Naine) in a plantation on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Chlorothalonil at 1440 g ai ha-1 was also included and compared with the best rate of oil determined in this study. Treatments were applied over the adaxial surface of banana leaves, using a manual back-pack sprayer equipped with a nozzle TXSS-2.
