Germination of Chloris virgata SW seeds under different environmental conditions

, : Germination of Chloris virgata SW seeds under different environmental conditions. Range Management and Agroforestry 19(2): 139-143

Seeds of Chloris virgata collected from different arid ecological habitats in western Rajasthan were tested for their germination under different soil media and environmental conditions. Complete dark and high temperature did not favour seed germination. Best germination results were obtained from seeds collected from alluvial and hummocky soils. Seeds sown just after collection in the winter season showed very poor germination.
