Relationship between Tanaisia bragai (Digenea, Eucotylidae) and its intermediate host, Subulina octona (Gastropoda, Subulinidae) under experimental conditions

, : Relationship between Tanaisia bragai (Digenea, Eucotylidae) and its intermediate host, Subulina octona (Gastropoda, Subulinidae) under experimental conditions. Parasitologia al Dia 21(3/4): 109-113

The effect of parasitism by Tanaisia bragai on the mortality, reproductive function, growth rate, calcium concentration in the shell and oxygen consumption of its intermediate host, the snail Subulina octona, was studied in infected and uninfected snails maintained under laboratory conditions. A significant increase in mortality was observed in infected snails. The alteration in reproductive function evaluated through egg production suggested parasitic castration of infected snails.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that organizations are increasingly concerned with employee off-duty deviance (ODD), yet management research has rarely investigated this type of deviant behavior. We define ODD as behaviors committed outside the workpl...

These metabolites play antagonistic roles in this r...
