Laboratory testing and validation of time-temperature indicators (TTI), Lifelines model A15, in the form of self-adhesive food packaging labels, are described. An urban field study in Northern Italy is also reported. Temperature conditions and fluctuations in 45 household refrigerators were monitored over several days by use of TTI or Rologg recording modules. There was no significant difference in mean temperatures or deviations between the 2 methods.
