The benefits of evaluating bile acid concentration in the diagnosis and monitoring of extra-hepatic congenital portosystemic shunting: highlighting a postoperative relapse

, : The benefits of evaluating bile acid concentration in the diagnosis and monitoring of extra-hepatic congenital portosystemic shunting: highlighting a postoperative relapse. Pratique Medicale and Chirurgicale de l' Animal de Compagnie 34(2): 157-161

This article describes the biochemical diagnosis of suspected shunting, with particular emphasis on bile acids. Using a case report as an example, it is confirmed that it is important to evaluate the concentrations of serum bile acids (SBA) in both the diagnosis and the monitoring of portosystemic shunting.
