The current and future impact of Asia's economic downturn on the region's hospitality industry

, : The current and future impact of Asia's economic downturn on the region's hospitality industry. International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management 10(7): 252-256

This paper first examines the impact of the Asian economic downturn on the hospitality and tourism industry. It then turns to review the region's hospitality trends and environments. It is found that the tourism and hospitality industry in Asia has been growing very significantly, slowed by current economic problems in the region. While this economic situation has caused a decrease in intra-regional travel, it has made the cost of inter regional travel to Asia more attractive.
