Vegetable research in India

, : Vegetable research in India. Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 68(8, Special issue): 515-526

Vegetable production in India is described, including genetic improvement and cultivar development, the development of off-season cultivars to enable year-round production, crop management, pest and disease control and seed production. Lists of open-pollinated cultivars and hybrids of different vegetable crops are presented, and recommended herbicide rates, and chemical control measures for important pests and diseases, are tabulated.
