Assessment of forest condition employing geostatistical methods

, : Assessment of forest condition employing geostatistical methods. Acta Facultatis Forestalis Zvolen Slovakia ( 41): 239-251

The paper deals with some theoretical aspects of geostatistical methods - variogram analysis, kriging methods - and also with the practical application of these methods to the assessment of forest damage (defoliation). Data for Norway spruce forest damage in Slovakia derived from aerial digital interpretation in the GEO-EAS system were processed. An exponential model with nugget effect C0= 90, sill C1= 23 and range a1= 4 km was utilized for the fitting of damage experimental variogram.
