Changes in residual volatiles in white pepper (Piper nigrum L.) following gamma irradiation treatment

, : Changes in residual volatiles in white pepper (Piper nigrum L.) following gamma irradiation treatment. Bangladesh Journal of Scientific and Industrial Research 33(3): 415-419

Changes in components of volatile oils of white pepper were studied by capillary gas chromatograph. Powdered white pepper was extracted with chloroform and the residue was taken for analysis of volatiles. Residue irradiated with 250 KGY showed decreased peak intensity of d-3-carene. Increased peak intensity of beta -caryophyllene was obtained in residue irradiated with 500 KGY.
