Effect of soil moisture and water logging on seed germination and seedling growth of cotton under Bhal condition

, : Effect of soil moisture and water logging on seed germination and seedling growth of cotton under Bhal condition. Indian Journal of Plant Physiology 5(2): 174-176

Pot experiments were conducted in kharif season with cotton (Gossypium herbaceum) G. Cot. 13 to assess germination at different soil moisture contents. The effect of waterlogging period (0-168 h) on seed germination was also determined. The highest (95%) and lowest (21.7%) cumulative germination were observed at 23.8 and 12.0% moisture content, respectively. No germination was observed below 12.0% moisture content.
