Effect of some antitranspirants on growth and some metabolic products of wheat plants under water interval irrigation systems

, : Effect of some antitranspirants on growth and some metabolic products of wheat plants under water interval irrigation systems. Desert Institute Bulletin, Egypt 1999; 48(1): 153-171

A pot experiment carried out during winter 1993/1994 and 1994/1995 studied the effect of three irrigation intervals (7, 14 and 21 days) and two antitranspirants (abscisic acid and phenylmercuric acetate (PMA)) on growth, chlorophyll contents, metabolic products and mineral ion contents of wheat plants. Increasing irrigation intervals reduced most growth criteria (shoot height, fresh and dry weights, flag leaf area and root fresh and dry weights), while root length was increased.
