Efficacy of dazomet (Basamid-G) in seedling production and weed management in Dianthus, sweet Willium and Phlox

, : Efficacy of dazomet (Basamid-G) in seedling production and weed management in Dianthus, sweet Willium and Phlox. Journal of Interacademicia 4(4): 502-505

The efficacy of dazomet, a soil sterilant, in the production of quality seedlings was investigated in nursery beds of dianthus (Dianthus chinensis), sweet William (Dianthus barbatus) and phlox (Phlox drummondii) in West Bengal (India) in October 1999. Six levels of dazomet (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 g/m2) were tested along with an untreated control. The highest level of germination was recorded in all three crops with 30 g dazomet/m2, and the lowest with 60 g/m2.
