Reproduction traits and their heritability in Polish goats

, : Reproduction traits and their heritability in Polish goats. Prace i Materiay Zootechniczne ( 56): 121-128

Heritability coefficients (hsuperscript 2) were estimated with the REML procedure using multiple-trait animal model with random herd-sire and fixed herd-year-season of kidding interactions. The data analysed covered 9881 kiddings of 4944 goats. Heritability coefficients for first to second kidding interval and total losses (mortality, abortions, hermaphrodites) after the first, second and third and later kiddings were 0.127, 0.098, 0.011 and 0.009, respectively.
