The influence of certain metals on the concentration of magnesium and calcium in the mitochondria of rat's tissues

, : The influence of certain metals on the concentration of magnesium and calcium in the mitochondria of rat's tissues. Annales Universitatis Mariae Curie Sklodowska Sectio DDD, Pharmacia 14: 55-60

A study was conducted to determine the influence of lead, zinc, copper and magnesium on the concentration of magnesium and calcium in the mitochondria of the brain, liver and kidney of rats. All of the tested metals, added to the diet, influenced magnesium and calcium concentrations in the tested mitochondria. Concentration changes in both magnesium and calcium were dependednt upon the concentration of the tested metal as well as on the type of tissue analysed.
