Use of bypass protein and bypass fat in feeding high-yielding dairy cows

, : Use of bypass protein and bypass fat in feeding high-yielding dairy cows. Allattenyesztes es Takarmanyozas 48(6): 669-671

The effect of rumen bypass fat and protein products on rumen fermentation was studied in rumen-fistulated cows. Supplementation of unprocessed fat adversely influenced rumen fermentation but supplementation of calcium soaps (protected fat) did not reduce production of volatile fatty acids nor decrease the ratio of acetic to propionic acid.
