Use of cabergoline (Galastop) in dogs

, : Use of cabergoline (Galastop) in dogs. Dansk Veterinaertidsskrift 83(3): 24-25

Cabergoline (Galastop), an ergoline derivative that is a prolactin inhibitor, was registered in Denmark in 1999 for treating pseudopregnancy and for suppressing milk production in dogs and cats. In recent years considerable research has been carried out on the use of the drug as an abortifacient, for treating pyometra and for oestrus induction; the results have been promising.
