A method for fitting of nonlinear Fox model in fisheries

, : A method for fitting of nonlinear Fox model in fisheries. Indian Journal of Animal Sciences 73(3): 329-331

Nonlinear Fox model is extensively used for efficient fisheries management. However, if no attention is paid for reparameterization of the parameters, estimates generally end up having large correlation, and the corresponding model exhibits a highly nonlinear behaviour. To get rid of these problems, utility of employing expected-value parameters is highlighted. Exact explicit expression giving catch-effort relationship for nonlinear Fox model is worked out.
