A novel method for estimation of seedling establishment trait of rice (Oryza sativa L.) under low temperatures and for evaluation of the trait using appropriate varieties as standards

, : A novel method for estimation of seedling establishment trait of rice (Oryza sativa L.) under low temperatures and for evaluation of the trait using appropriate varieties as standards. Japanese Journal of Crop Science 72(3): 301-308

A method to demonstrate varietal differences in seedling establishment of rice under low temperature, and methods of data analysis are described. Nursery boxes were filled with sieved soil up to 0, 4 and 8 mm below the top. After sowing, the boxes were filled with soil to attain different sowing depths. The boxes were kept submerged in a paddy for 30 days.
