, : Application of a light weight nursery for sugar beet to growers. Proceedings of the Japanese Society of Sugar Beet Technologists (44): 42-46

This study was conducted to determine the performance of a light weight nursery for growing sugarbeet. It has 6 parts of moistened ground rice chaffs and four parts of soil. Conventional fertilizers for growing seedlings was added. It was found that at the early stage of seedlings, the germination on the light weight nursery was slower than that of the usual soil, but during the later stage, the same level were reached.
