Buffalo farms with 69% of the total buffalo population in Zona da Mata and Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais, Brazil) were surveyed to examine their production and marketing. Although the majority of the buffalo raisers aim at milk production, 76% of them sell their buffaloes for slaughter.
