Chemically modified solid wood. II: Resistance to Hylotrupes bajulus attack

, : Chemically modified solid wood. II: Resistance to Hylotrupes bajulus attack. Material und Organismen 33(2): 81-90

This paper presents an assessment of the effectiveness of three straight chain alkyl anhydrides (acetic, propionic and butyric) as chemical modifiers in improving the resistance of susceptible softwood (Pinus sylvestris) to attack by wood destroying insect larvae of the house longhorn beetle (Hylotrupes bajulus), using European standards' EN46 and EN47 test methods.
