Cultivation of Asiatic hybrids of Lilium sp. in three different substrates

, : Cultivation of Asiatic hybrids of Lilium sp. in three different substrates. Revista de la Facultad de Agronomia Universidad de Buenos Aires 22(1): 79-83

Asiatic hybrids (Lilium sp.), cultivars Novecento and America, were grown in soil, soil:sand (1:1, v:v), or soil:rice hulls:river sand:perlite (1:2:2:3, v/v). The soil was a heavy local soil with low porosity and 3.8% organic matter, pH 7.2, EC 0.9 mmhos/cm, and CIC 21.8 meq/100 g. Cut flower quality (in terms of dry matter accumulation and stem length) was best in the soil amended with rice hulls, river sand and perlite, and lowest in the soil amended with sand.
