The Higher Institute for Health in Italy (ISS) has recently proposed a protocol for the detection of genetically modified organisms (GMO) in food, based on polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The sensitivity of the method was investigated in GMO soyabeans, as well as the possibility to set conditions for quantitative determination of genetic modifications of 3 oligonucleotide primers.
