This study was conducted to determine the effects of Zn level and source on feedlot performance and carcass merit of finishing cattle. Crossbred steers (n=336) were fed for 130 days at the Panhandle State University Research Centre in Goodwell, Oklahoma, USA. Addition of 30 ppm Availa Zn resulted in similar or greater performance of animals compared to that obtained when 30 ppm of ZINPRO Zn methionine was added.
