An analysis of protein synthesis at elevated temperatures in oat (Avena sativa) leaves revealed a heat-induced 44 kDa polypeptide. A cDNA library of heat-treated leaves was constructed and screened with specific antibodies raised against this 44 kDa polypeptide.
