Identification and distribution of Mycosphaerella spp. in musacea of the Dominican Republic

, : Identification and distribution of Mycosphaerella spp. in musacea of the Dominican Republic. Manejo Integrado de Plagas y Agroecologia (64): 62-66

The leaf spot diseases caused by Mycosphaerella spp. affect musacea crops, increasing the production costs and decreasing the fruit quality. The study consisted of determining the distribution of species of this pathogen in the Dominican Republic and obtaining monospore cultures. Samples of affected leaves were collected in the zones producing banana and plantain. These were processed in the Plant Protection Laboratory of CIRAD-AMIS, Montpellier, France.
