Identification and evaluation of fungal organisms as possible biocontrol agents of Meloidogyne spp

, : Identification and evaluation of fungal organisms as possible biocontrol agents of Meloidogyne spp. Fitopatologia Colombiana 25(1/2): 33-38

Root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) and associated fungi were isolated from soil and roots, and cultivated in PDA, AS or PZA. Twenty-two fungal isolations were obtained. Eight were select for their high frequency and because they grew directly over the nematode. In order to evaluate their effect on population size of Meloidogyne, 3 bioassays were carried out under greenhouse conditions. M. incognita race 2 and the host plants tomato and soyabean (both highly susceptible) were used.
