Identification and pathogenicity of Escherichia coli isolated from duck and hen eggs

, : Identification and pathogenicity of Escherichia coli isolated from duck and hen eggs. Journal of Interacademicia 6(Special): 716-717

A total of 200 hen eggs and 100 duck eggs were collected from surrounding markets in West Bengal, India to determine the prevalence and serotypes of Escherichia coli. The organism was isolated from 34 hen egg shell samples (22.7%, n=150) and 5 egg yolk samples (2.5%, n=200). Twelve and two organisms were isolated from the duck egg shell (24%, n=50) and duck egg yolk samples (2%, n=100), respectively.
