, : Identification by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique of strains of enteropathogenic (EPEC) Escherichia coli isolated from diarrheic and healthy dogs in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ars Veterinaria 17(3): 218-223

Stool samples from 146 dogs with diarrhoea and 36 from apparently healthy dogs were examined. Using polymerase chain reaction (PCR), the gene eae was detected in 22 (11.82%) Escherichia coli strains: 19 strains from diarrhoeic and 3 from non-diarrhoeic dogs.
