Identification of Pasteurella multocida serotype B:2 by polymerase chain reaction

, : Identification of Pasteurella multocida serotype B:2 by polymerase chain reaction. Khoa Hoc Ky Thuat Thu Y Veterinary Sciences and Techniques 9(3): 12-17

Examination of 32 isolates of Pasteurella multocida resulted in the identification of 8 isolates belonging to serotype B:2/B:5 (also known as B:2.5). Polymerase chain reaction using the primers HSB yielded positive results not only with this serotype but also with the serotype D and fermenting lactose. For the correct identification of serotype B:2, the use of two pairs of primers, HSB and CAPB, is suggested.
