Introduced population of Krynickillus melanocephalus (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Stylommatophora) recorded in Kyiv and preliminary results of its helminthological investigation

, : Introduced population of Krynickillus melanocephalus (Mollusca, Gastropoda, Stylommatophora) recorded in Kyiv and preliminary results of its helminthological investigation. Vestnik Zoologii 36(6): 57-59

The slug Krynickillus melanocephalus Kaleniczenko, 1851 known from the Caucasus, Crimea, Turkey and Iran is recorded in Kiev (at the "Teremki", station of the Institute of Zoology), species identification is confirmed by external characters and structure of the reproductive system. Annual life cycle is shown for the Kiev population. Unintended introduction from Crimea with plants is suggested. Helminths were not recorded in this population, whereas in the natural range the slug hosts at least three species.
