, : Isolation of cytotoxic aeromonads in food industry. Industrie Alimentari 41(414): 540-544

The presence of cytotoxic aeromonads was assessed in various foods and food plants. A total of 81 strains of Aeromonas were isolated from seafood processing plants, fresh meat (horse, pigmeat, poultry meat and beef), meat products, raw milk, milk products and vegetables. The biochemical tests identified 65 strains of A. hydrophila/caviae and 16 strains of A. sobria. 89.2% of A. hydrophila/caviae strains and all the A. sobria strains showed cytotoxicity in Vero cells at 37 and 0 degrees C.
