Morphometric and densitometric parameters of male Broiler Cobb chicks during the first two months of life

, : Morphometric and densitometric parameters of male Broiler Cobb chicks during the first two months of life. Annali della Facolta di Medicina Veterinaria, Universita di Parma 22: 253-271

Physiological data on the structural and morphometric parameters of the femur and tibiotarsus of chicks of Broiler Cobb 500, a fast growing strain selected for growth and feed conversion, were determined at three different days of age (days 28, 35 and 55) to determine skeletal disorders that may occur in these breeds. Histological studies showed a plexiform pattern, resulting to a more dense structure during the examined period, but not assuming a completely mature cortical bone.
