Physiological effect of new FA antitranspirant application on maize

, : Physiological effect of new FA antitranspirant application on maize. Agricultural Sciences in China 2(7): 742-746

Field trials were conducted during 2000 and 20002 in Shanxi, China to study the physiological effect of fulvic acid (FA) antitranspirant on maize. FA was sprayed at 10 d pre-tasselling, ear filling and 10 d pre-tasselling+ear-filling stages at concentrations of 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 ml/litre. FA increased the nitrate reductase activity (NRA), free proline content, chlorophyll content and water content of leaf, thereby mitigating the effect of drought stress.
