Some physical and anatomical features of sentang (Azadirachta excelsa)

, : Some physical and anatomical features of sentang (Azadirachta excelsa). Malaysian Forester 65(3): 162-172

The basic density and the percentage of sapwood of three trees each of 10-year-old and 15-year-old sentang (Azadirachta excelsa) were studied. Basic density for the 10-year-old sentang was found to vary from 427 to 654 kg/m3 with an average of 521 kg/m3 whereas the basic density for the 15-year-old sentang was between 410 and 630 kg/m3 with an average of 517 kg/m3. Basic density was comparatively higher than an earlier study on 5-year-old sentang, which had a density of 336 to 580 kg/m3.
