A total of 36 suckling piglets were divided into two groups of equal numbers and were subjected to two treatments. The control group (18 piglets) was given 100 mg Fe3+ via injection of iron dextran on days one and four of life. In the experimental group, 100 mg Fe under polyphosphatic form with honey was given on day one until day four of life.
