Time series analysis of risk frames in media communication of agrobiotechnology

, : Time series analysis of risk frames in media communication of agrobiotechnology. Market development for genetically modified foods: 217-225

This chapter analyses mass media coverage of agrobiotechnology in a risk communication framework using content analysis. Coverage in US and UK newspapers over the period 1990-99 is analysed. In particular, the chapter examines how environmental and food safety risks and benefits have been communicated through the media in the 2 countries.
