Urinary infections of cats due to antibiotic multiresistant microorganisms

, : Urinary infections of cats due to antibiotic multiresistant microorganisms. Revista de Medicina Veterinaria Buenos Aires 83(2): 64-70

The authors communicate 5 cases of urinary infections in 4 male cats with signs of lower urinary tract disease, produced by microorganisms resistant to antimicrobial agents commonly used to treat ambulatory infections. Corynebacterium urealyticum was isolated from the alkaline urine samples (pH>=8) of 3 cats. All these isolates were sensitive to only vancomycin.
