Warp in structural timber. Causes and control

, : Warp in structural timber. Causes and control. Investigacion Agraria, Sistemas y Recursos Forestales 10(2): 245-252

More than 948 boards with dried dimensions of 150x50x3000 mm from 22 trees (Pinus nigra) felled in 4 different areas of the National Park of Cazorla and Segura (Jaen, Spain), were studied. The influence of site, tree and position of boards within the tree on bow, spring, twist and cupping of timber, were observed and measured according to the methodology of the Spanish standard UNE 56.544.
