Biological studies on the soil predatory mite Ololaelaps nasri Hassan (Laelapidae: Mesostigmata)

, : Biological studies on the soil predatory mite Ololaelaps nasri Hassan (Laelapidae: Mesostigmata). Egyptian Journal of Agricultural Research 81(1): 67-82

The effects of different diets and temperatures on the biology and reproduction of the laelapid mite O. nasri were studied. Some prey species, i.e. immature stages of Rhizoglyphus robini, stored product mite Tyrophagus putrescentiae, eggs and larvae of Musca domestica, free living nematode Rhabditis scanica, soil fungus Aspergillus niger and the collembolan Lepidocyrtinus incertus, as well as mixture of diets, were used. The rate of reproduction was studied at 20, 25 and 30 degrees C.

GABA, applied by iontophoresis to striatal neurons of the rat in an in vivo preparation, depolarized the membrane potential and decreased the input resistance in a dose-dependent manner. The null potential of the GABA depolarization was about -50...

We have previously reported the isolation of an Escherichia coli K12 mutant that is extremely sensitive to mutagenesis by low doses of ethylating agents. We now show by Southern analysis that the mutation involves a gross deletion covering at leas...
