Changes of antioxidant enzyme activities in Casuarina equisetifolia seedlings under NaCl stress and Ca2+ regulation in them

, : Changes of antioxidant enzyme activities in Casuarina equisetifolia seedlings under NaCl stress and Ca2+ regulation in them. Plant Physiology Communications 40(2): 184-186

Potted seedlings were treated with NaCl at the rate of 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 g/kg soil, and with 10 g NaCl + 4 g Ca(NO3)2, 10 g NaCL + 8 g Ca(NO3)2, 20 g NaCl + 4 g Ca(NO3)2, and 20 g NaCl + 8 g Ca(NO3)2/kg soil. Superoxide dismutase activity decreased under NaCl stress, while the activities of catalase and peroxidase as well as protein content increased. NaCl stress combined with Ca2+ increased salt tolerance.
