Determination of the spermatological properties during the first spawning season of young male rainbow trouts (Oncorhynchus mykiss) reared in floating cages in Ataturk Dam Lake, Sanliurfa, Turkey

, : Determination of the spermatological properties during the first spawning season of young male rainbow trouts (Oncorhynchus mykiss) reared in floating cages in Ataturk Dam Lake, Sanliurfa, Turkey. Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances 3(8): 542-546

Semen was collected by abdominal massage from 11 young male rainbow trout during the spawning season (late January to late February). The colour, volume, motility, motility duration, concentration and pH of the collected milts were determined. Furthermore, body weight and total length were measured and correlations between spermatological characteristics and these parameters were investigated.
