Effect of culture parameters on the degradation of a hydrolyzable tannin extracted from cascalote by Aspergillus niger

, : Effect of culture parameters on the degradation of a hydrolyzable tannin extracted from cascalote by Aspergillus niger. Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology 73(1): 45-52

This study investigated the effect of culture conditions on Aspergillus niger for the biodegradation of tannin extracts from cascalote (Caesalpinia cacalaco) under submerged fermentation. The strain A. niger CDBB H-176 was maintained on culture slants of potato dextrose agar containing tanning extract from cascalote and tannin acid. The effect of selected factors (viz., urea, pH, temperature and stirring) on the tannin degradation compounds was determined.
