Ethephon (2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid) induced tillering in seedlings of Elettaria cardamomum Maton

, : Ethephon (2-chloroethyl phosphonic acid) induced tillering in seedlings of Elettaria cardamomum Maton. Journal of Plantation Crops 29(3): 53-55

Four-month-old seedlings of cardamom (E. cardamomum Vazhukka) were maintained in polythene bags under controlled environment conditions and were given uniform quantities of nutrients and water. They were segregated into 4 segments of 9 plants each. Ethephon solutions containing 200, 400 and 800 ppm of active substance was sprayed on 3 segments and the fourth segment was maintained as control.
