Genetic variability and character association in rainfed niger

, : Genetic variability and character association in rainfed niger. Agricultural Science Digest 23(1): 53-54

The phenotypic coefficient of variation, genotypic coefficient of variation, heritability, genetic advance and genetic correlation for 9 characters were estimated in 33 genotypes of rainfed niger (Guizotia abyssinica), grown during 1997-98 in Jagdalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India. Considering the estimates of variability and correlation, it was observed that selection for number of branches and capitula per plant was likely to increase the yield of niger plant.
