PCR-based randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fingerprinting for detection of genetic diversity among Sudanese isolates of Haemophilus somnus

, : PCR-based randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) fingerprinting for detection of genetic diversity among Sudanese isolates of Haemophilus somnus. Veterinarski Arhiv 73(6): 315-321

Haemophilus somnus is a pathogen frequently associated with infectious thromboembolic meningoencephalitis in cattle. Five strains of H. somnus were isolated from clinically infected cattle. In the Sudan the organism is associated with a clinical syndrome characterized by nervous manifestations. The strains were found to be morphologically and serologically different as determined by cultural and biochemical characteristics.
