Ripening physiology of five loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) cultivars

, : Ripening physiology of five loquat (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.) cultivars. Options Mediterraneennes Serie A, Seminaires Mediterraneens (58): 153-155

Ripening physiology was observed in loquat cultivars (Algerie, Cardona, Golden, Magdall and Peluche) in Spain. The increase in the ethylene production observed was mediated by increased 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidoreductase (ACC oxidase) activity. The loquat fruits from all 5 cultivars showed a climacteric type of ripening.
