Six mutant varieties induced by ion beams in chrysanthemum

, : Six mutant varieties induced by ion beams in chrysanthemum. Technical News Institute of Radiation Breeding (65): 2 pp.

Explants of petals of ray florets and leaves of chrysanthemum Taihei were cultured in aseptic medium and irradiated with a carbon ion beam (12C5+). The irradiated explants formed calluses from which plants were regenerated. The regenerated plants were transplanted in the field, and flower colour mutants were selected (Ion-no-Koumyou, Ion-no-Seikou, Ion-no-Reimei, and Ion-no-Kouki).
