Three trap culture cycles produce higher spore count and species diversity in trap cultures

, : Three trap culture cycles produce higher spore count and species diversity in trap cultures. Mycorrhiza News 16(4): 19-22

Trap cultures from five locations (Budaun, Badshahpur, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Gual Pahari and Palwal in Haryana, and Pachmari in Madhya Pradesh) in India were established and were monitored for sporulation by routine sampling. From each location, five wheat fields were selected, on which were grown the crops meant to serve as a trap crop. Trap cultures were monitored for three culture cycles for spore count, intraradical root colonization, infectivity potential, and species richness.
