Use of slow release fertilizers in citrus crops

, : Use of slow release fertilizers in citrus crops. Laranja 24(2): 507-518

In recent years, important changes in citrus production technology have been applied to improve productivity and profitability. The increase in use of fertilizers, especially those containing nitrogen, is common practice during the first years of the grove due to the necessity of obtaining more longevity and earlier crops. The efficiency of soluble fertilizers is not constant due to nitrogen losses by volatilization or lixiviation.
